Musical Weekend

Sat was Boccelli nite.....
First time i went to a picnic concert at Botanic gardens.and it was not to see him face to face, its via a screen.
So 3pm the gates open and 430 there will be a concert by local Jazz Monteiro....
the idea was to beat the crowd and get nice spot.
3pm we set off from home under the bright sun... wondering whether we will melt in sun...
then as we approached the place... skies were darker and darker....
and when we reached the place..... rain so heavyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
parked at a hotel 15, 20 mins walk away and loitered at the lobby....
if it continues... mm said it's time to go home...
but well it was early so.....
by 5, the weather brightened up... slight slight drizzle....
went to the hotel store and thought of getting a plastic mat to avoid muddy bums....
but it was selling at $18 bucks. mad... tourist carrot head chopper...

when weather seemed to clear. we walked to botanic....
not the best walk there cos of the distance and barang we brought...
we packed mats, food, drinks, tibits, fans, cake, mossie patch etc... i think i was worried we were starve in the gardens and get lost in the forest. hahaha
rain was so huge tat a tree was uprooted and smashed the fence of some building.

into botanic we went...
there was a goodie bag? surprise....
There was things that was well thought of. shocking esp when its a free concert.
there were water, concert programme, dvd of past ytl concert, mossie patch, wet wipes, biscuits, sweets, fan....
then to go to another tent to retrieve kfc meal and drinks and ice cream.
wow.... impressive arrangement.
apprarntly there was a shuttle bus as well .....

this company is sure generous and super rich....

so the stage was at a distance. one screen. quite a lot of pple were there
and it rained a little while we were sitting.
pple were facing the front at the screen of the jazz band. but ironically , the band was on the stage at the right performing live. no one actually turned right to face them...
so they sang and sang
at duno wat time, its was the end. so they showed the dvd of some concerts... the sound system was bad.....
but fortunately, the sound system for bocelli was great....

performers were wearing penguin suits. hot hot hot....
a couple of sopranos were there to sing. but their voice i find not suited to blend with bocellis....
the flutist i saw at madison square garden was there. juz as fast but thought the notes were not so distinctly played as compared to the madison performance.
boceeli was good.....as always

by 945 the performance was over...
there were rounds of fireworks... we heard live and saw on screen but mananged to see the real smoke and slight sparks from the other end of the botanic gardens....

the walk to the car park begins.....
saw police escort and the pressi car... peeped and saw the wifey...
waving like a mad woman doesnt get their attention......
oh well.. think the pressi din enjoy the performance. and a noticeably fact was the ladies vip beside him were all in green ... was it a coincidence or the fact tat it was the gardens venue and go green?

sunday was chicago nite as the durian..
beta than i expected.i kind of like the abstract description of the scenes and rampart rappot they had....
din see the movie but frens said movie was more interesting...as it showed more scenes and explained more jointly...

a music weekend I had
